24TH SPELLING BEE FUNDRAISER HOSTED BY KINGSTON LITERACY & SKILLS

(Kingston ON) Local organization Kingston Literacy & Skills (KL&S) is hosting their 24th “Grate Groan-Up Spelling Bee” fundraiser on Thursday, May 23rd, 2019 at The Harbour, Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, 53 Yonge Street, Kingston. Doors open at 4:30pm.

“This competition provides an incredible test of mental agility and intellectual savvy for adult spellers,” says Chuck Dowdall, Executive Director of KL&S. “The Bee serves as a great team builder for organizations and businesses while supporting literacy programs in Kingston, Napanee and surrounding communities.”

KL&S is a non-profit delivering literacy upgrading and workforce preparation programs to adults and families. The “Grate Groan-Up Spelling Bee” was launched in Kingston in 1994, the first corporate spelling bee in the region.

Broadcasted on YourTV, teams of three will battle it out for spelling supremacy, with awards presented for various categories. For more information, visit www.klsread.ca/spelling-bee.
